Any of you guys read the Southern Vampire Series by Charlaine Harris? They are really great books about a small town waitress named Sookie Stackhouse. Sookie is special in the sense that she's telepathic and everyone therefore thinks she's crazy.
Anyway, HBO has optioned the books into a tv series. We're 4 episodes into the season, and let me tell you I love it. I had to go back and re-read the first book just to see how on par the show is with the books. So far the show is true to the books, with a few small exceptions.
If you like vampires you really should check out this series.
The visual effects of vamp movements completely rock. After rereading the first book, I'm so excited to see what they do with this series.
So far the reviews have been great. The show has actually been picked up by HBO for a second year.
There's a few details in the series that aren't included in the books. Some pretty graphic skinamax scenes featuring Sookies hot brother Jason. Boy does he have some abs. But moving on, check it out. I think you'll dig it.
